James C. Woo’s practice is primarily focused on Wills, Trusts, Estate Administration, Probate Litigation and Guardianship.   Mr. Woo’s practice also includes business succession planning, asset protection, corporations and real estate transactions.  He is a certified mediator and regularly handles contested probate and guardianship matters, as well as a wide variety of other contested matters.

Mr. Woo is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.  Mr. Woo has also been elected as a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.  The College is comprised of attorneys and law professors skilled and experienced in the preparation of wills, trusts, probate procedure, and administration of trusts.  Membership in the College is by invitation only and is limited to attorneys that have made significant contributions to the field of estate planning and probate law through lecturing, writing, or bar activities.

Mr. Woo has been a leader in various organizations within the State Bar of Texas.  He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the State Bar of Texas.  He was actively involved with the Texas Board of Legal Specialization for over 15 years including a term as chairman of the Board of Directors.  He is also a former member of the council of the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section.  The REPTL section is one of the largest sections within the State Bar with over 7,000 members.  During his time on the council, he chaired the Decedent’s Estate Legislation Committee whose function is to propose and draft bills to update or amend the Texas Estates Code.  Woo also served for many years as a member of the District 10 Grievance Committee.

Mr. Woo has long record of being involved in local bar organizations as well, and has held leadership positions in the San Antonio Bar Association, San Antonio Young Lawyers Association, and the San Antonio Estate Planners Council.
